Everybody wants to lose weight as fast as they can, as easy as possible. But the sad truth is-- there is no easy way to lose weight. The weight you have gained for a given time takes also a little time to melt those pounds away. Experts in nutrition believe that the safest way is to lose 2 lbs on a weekly basis. This is actually the most realistic and lasting as well. Here are some tried and tested diet tips in losing weight in a more rational way. Fast weight loss diet plan simplified.

1. Find a diet that suits your lifestyle. If you can’t live counting calories for the rest of your life. Don’t start now. Start from the basics. Diet and physical activity should always go hand in hand. DO the math. If you take in excess, you gain weight. Deduct 500 calories from your recommended intake and increase your physical activity is a more sensible way to do it. Don’t worry, I wont let you count. Just read this. Are you the kind of person who can’t last a meal without soda or soft drinks? Well, its time to gradually eliminate it from your system. A 12 ounce of soft drinks contain 164 calories. Imagine how many soft drinks can you consume in a day? In a week? Get my point? Did you know that soft drinks are the other drinking problem in the US next to alcohol? Drink 2 glasses of water before meals instead of soda. It makes you feel full thus lesser calorie intake and somehow lessens your cravings on soft drinks.

2. Know portion control by heart Choose the smallest plate as possible. A 7 inch dinner plate is advisable. Divide the plate into 4 equal portions, ¼ of your plate are for carbohydrate rich foods such as rice, corn, potato minus the gravy and sauces. Carbohydrates don’t really make us fats if taken in moderation, what we usually put in our carbohydrate-rich foods such as butter and the like makes it fattening. Half of your plate should be filled with your favorite vegetables and fruits. And the last quarter of it, should be reserved for lean meats or fish. The type of cooking does matter. Bake, grill or steam these proteins for a delicious meal. And always remember, that the more colorful your plate is, the healthier it becomes.

3. Exercise There are 1001 reasons why exercise is good for our health.
Keeping us in shape tops the list. Do you love to vegetate in front of television after a day’s work? Are you too lazy to use the stairs in the shopping mall? If this sounds like you, then it’s high time for a healthful change. A 20-30 minute walk 3-4 times a day is actually enough to increase your metabolism and burns the calorie faster. As I have mentioned, start with the basics, diet without exercise won’t work. No pain, no gain. But if it works for some, it might work for you to.
