Major Grass-Fed Beef Producers in the United States

posted on 2010-01-03 by JPerez

While the clamor for grass-fed beef is high among the consuming public, they are not readily available in most grocery stores and big meat shops all over the United States. With that said, there are farms that are directly selling their products, grass-fed beef included, to consumers. All you need to do is where to look for them and hook them up for your daily serving of grass-fed beef.

In Alabama, the Boutwell Farms supply the state with grass-fed beef and pastured pork. The beef that come from the USDA certified organic family farm are revealed to contain high amounts of Omega 3, DHA, CLA, minerals and vitamins. Their meat products have been the staple of restaurants operating in Alabama, Georgia and North Florida areas. HappyChappy Ranch is another well-known producer of grass-fed beef in the state of Alabama.

In Mississippi, Blackwater Farms is a widely recognized name when it comes to grass-fed beef. While the farm is relatively small, it does produce A-Grade grass-fed beef and other meats, including pastured chicken and turkey, and grass-fed lamb. Gloryland Farms is another top producer of grass-fed beef in the Mississippi area. Aside from the beef, the farm is also a supplier of pasture-raised chicken, turkey, beef, pork, chevron (goat), and true free-range brown eggs.

Date Creek Ranch is one of the oldest farms that sell direct to consumers. Based in state of Arizona, the farm breeds and raises their cattle by strict adherence to grass feeding. Aside from their top rated beef, Date Creek Ranch is also a steady producer of pesticide and chemical free freestone peaches, summer apples, and red apples. Still in Arizona, Double Check Ranch also supplies the state with high-grade grass-fed beef. Owned by the Schwennesen family, their cattle is raised and harvested in their 14,000 acre farm.

In the state of New York, the Arcadian Pastures produces top class grass-fed beef from Belted Galloway cattle. Their meat products also include grass-fed poultry, pigs, and lambs. Another farm, nearing 200 years of existence, is also a top producer of grass-fed beef. The 180-year old Ben Wever Farm has been a staple name in the grass-fed scene since its starts more than 180 years ago.
Virginians also enjoy a steady stream of grass-fed beef. Autumn Grove Farm has been a top name when it comes to grass-fed beef in Virginia. They raise and harvest their cattle that are naturally grown in their 90-acre farm. Anew player in town, Briarmead Farm, while still a fledgling in grass-fed beef production, has created a steady supply line of grass-fed beef.

There are other farms in the United States that are dedicated in growing and harvesting beef the natural way. The bottom line is that a lot of people are really going natural when it comes to beef consumption, mainly because it promotes healthy living. Eventually, grass-fed beef will soon be a staple item in every person’s diet. And the growing number of farms producing such meat is more than a testament that grass-fed beef is fast becoming permanent fixture in our meals.
