Our waistline increases, as our age increases. Can we stop this from happening? There are too many factors that directly and indirectly affect our weight. Slimming teas, pills, shakes, protein diets have been formulated in any parts of the world that brings hope to the horizontally challenged people, but unfortunately only give them more disappointments. The only truth about losing weight is diet and exercise.

1. Green tea speeds up our metabolism. Polyphenols, a naturally occurring substance in green tea triggers the release of norepinephrine which makes us burn calorie faster. It also suppresses our appetite that helps reduce our food cravings. Green tea weight loss programs often succeeded over other programs because it does not require you to be in a very low calorie diet. Green tea weight loss program simply means drinking green tea as part of your meal every day.
2. Green tea increases your endurance As what I have mentioned earlier, exercise is a must in any weight loss programs. According to researches, green tea does help you exercise longer by increasing your endurance. Sounds too good to be true?
3. Green tea burn calories There is a study conducted in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that research subjects who drank green tea as part of a controlled diet saw an increase in metabolic rate. There is an increase of metabolic rate by 4 % over 24 hours by drinking 3 or 4 cups of green tea. In other words, you will burn an extra 50 to 100 calories a day without much effort.
4. Green tea is not only for losing weight. Green tea weight loss benefits are just a tip of the iceberg. There are numerous health benefits of green tea. It can help lower your bad cholesterol thus decreasing the risk in acquiring heart problems. There are also studies which supports the claims that drinking green tea on a regular basis has benefited patients by improving the memories of people diagnosed with Alzheimers disease and helps control body tremors with Parkinson’s.
Is green tea weight loss program the solution to perennial problem of obesity? This is a big NO. Experts in nutrition will always recommend choosing the right kinds of food and 20-30 minutes of exercise every other day. However, green tea can be of help. Just don’t over do it.
